More advanced options include biogas and biojet fuel, created from food waste, sewage, and organic material. These are being tested for planes and large engines.
But there are challenges. Biofuels are costly to produce. Better tech and more supply are needed. Fuel crops should not reduce food availability.
Even with these limits, they are still valuable. They avoid full infrastructure change. And they support circular economy goals by using waste.
